On Bananas
People are like monkeys insofar as we collect and obsess over bananas. And by bananas I have in mind not wealth, mind you, but rather the things we value and accord purpose in life. Both people and monkeys tend toward those things which root or bind us in place. After all, if you were a monkey–would you venture beyond banana-land?
On Humoring Critics
It is important not to be so critical of one’s own critics. There is a difference between being critical and being a critic. A critic makes it their career to criticize. A cynic would say you should be very cautious regarding criticism from critics.
On Accomplishment
The easiest way to accomplish something spectacular is to take on significantly more than you can handle. Nothing truly spectacular is created without pain. Although not all things created with pain are spectacular. Try to succeed.
